Hola, my name is Andrea but my students and friends call me Andi. Yes, it can be used for girls, too. Did you know that Spanish is a global language with nearly 500 million native speakers, mainly in Spain and the Americas? It is the world's second most spoken native language. It is not only beautiful but also very useful to learn! As a certified teacher, I lived in Shanghai between 2010 and 2019, working at international and local schools, preparing Chinese students for various exams, including GcSE Spanish. Many students are just starting to learn Spanish, so no worries if you’re a total beginner! For over 20 years, I’ve taught students at all kinds of levels, from kindergarten to university at various schools in the UK, Hungary, China and Spain. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and I love to share ideas about different cultures. The exercises focus on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, while the class discussions encourage oral fluency and creative thinking. To begin a journey towards the total mastery of any language, building strong oral and written foundations is essential. In this course, students will establish skills in grammar and practice pronunciation through conversational exercises. They will also gain a fundamental understanding of the cultures in various Francophone countries. Join Mr. Nathan Risley in discovering a new world of words and wisdom. About French：French is the original international language of the modern world. For centuries, it was the language of the European aristocracy, and remains a popular diplomatic language. It is an administrative language of several European countries as well as Canada, a large portion of the African continent, and many smaller countries across the globe. The student who has mastered French as well as English truly has a key to communicating with the world.Teacher Introduction:Nathan Risley is a certified French and German teacher in both Washington State and Ohio. He has a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Ohio (major in French with a minor in German), a master’s degree in secondary education from Xavier University in Ohio and has also studied at the Université de Caen in France and at the Universität Trier in Germany. He has 19 years’ experience teaching French and German in the United States, and 3 years’ experience teaching ELL at 金苹果双语学校 in Shanghai.Course Summary: To begin a journey towards the total mastery of a language, building strong oral and written foundations is essential. In this course, students will establish skills in grammar and practice pronunciation through conversational exercises. In addition, cultural elements from various French-speaking countries will be studied, because knowing culture is an important element of understanding the spirit of the language.
